AdvaMed Establishes Medical Imaging Division

AdvaMed, the medical technology association, announced the formation of a new Medical Imaging Technologies division dedicated to advocating on behalf of companies large and small on the important role medical imaging technologies, radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and focused ultrasound devices play in our nation’s health care system. Leading medical imaging companies such as Bayer, Fujifilm Sonosite, GE HealthCare, Hologic, Philips and Siemens Healthineers have officially established AdvaMed as a new advocacy center representing medical imaging companies.

AdvaMed President and CEO Scott Whitaker said, “This new division is a major step forward not only for the medical imaging field, but also for AdvaMed and the entire medical technology industry. Medical technology has never been more interconnected and interdependent than it is today – and this is really just the beginning. From traditional medical devices to digital health technologies to AI and medical imaging, the opportunity to unify the industry and advance policy solutions for the health care system has never been better. No trade organization is better positioned than AdvaMed to represent the entire medtech industry and address these advocacy challenges so our members can continue to focus on what they do best – meeting the needs of the patients they serve.

Peter J. Arduini, President and CEO of GE HealthCare and recently appointed Chairman of AdvaMed’s Board of Directors, commented on the new division: “We are entering a new era where healthcare providers and patients depend on medical imaging and digital solutions to obtain crucial insights throughout the entire care process, from screening and diagnosis to monitoring, treatment implementation, and research and discovery. As chairman, I am eager to collaborate with Scott and industry colleagues to establish AdvaMed’s new imaging division and ensure its alignment and integration with our overarching objectives for the medical technology industry.”

Patrick Hope, who has served as Executive Director of MITA since 2015, will now serve as Executive Director of AdvaMed’s new Medical Imaging Technologies division. Hope said, “For the medical imaging companies we serve at MITA, the future is brighter than ever. Our new home at AdvaMed makes perfect sense: For the first time, we will be surrounded by a team, infrastructure and resources fully focused on the patients our company serves. We will work directly with medical technology policy experts at the state, national, and global levels. I am 100% confident that our companies will see more value than ever before in working together under the AdvaMed umbrella.”

Imaging is a vital component of our healthcare system, contributing to both diagnosis and treatment:

  • In the U.S., a medical image is captured every 3 seconds.
  • Approximately 80% of FDA-cleared artificial intelligence (AI) technology pertains to imaging.

As we all know, the composition of medical imaging cannot be separated from these medical instruments, which are scanners, contrast media, contrast media injectors, and supporting consumables (syringes and tubes). There are many excellent manufacturers of contrast agent syringes and syringes in China, and Lnkmed is one of them. The four kinds of contrast agent high-pressure injectors produced by LNKMED have been distributed to many countries around the world and have been welcomed by customers-CT single head injector,CT dual head injector,MRI contrast media injector, angiography high pressure contrast media injectorDSA injector). They use Bluetooth communication, the housing is aluminum alloy material; Solid and compact design, waterproof head, real-time display of pressure curves, storage of more than 2000 sets of registration programs, with exhaust air lock, automatic detection of head orientation, automatic reset of the syringe and other functions. LnkMed has perfect production process, complete quality inspection process and qualification certificate. Click here to learn more:https://www.lnk-med.com/
